Family: My husband, Jim was a teacher for Duluth Public Schools. He taught 31.34 years and went back half time another 6 years. He was also a veteran in the Army and Air Force. Both Jim and I taught at Central High Schools, retiring from there.
Our daughter, Lisa Post is a teacher in Duluth Public Schools. She taught at Central, also did the Prom and Year Book. She taught English at Woodland Hills Rockridge School before going into Work Experience.

My Information: I taught at Park Point School, West Junior, Washington Junior, Lester Park, Chester Park, Ordean School and my last 10 years were at Central High School teaching special ed. English and case managing students who were LD and EBD. That was 28 years in Duluth Public Schools. I taught in International Falls and St. Peter Public Schools for another 3 and a half years. I was coordinator of the summer school program in St. Peter Public Schools. I retired in 2003.
Career: I started a non-profit, a 501c3 charity called Circle of Hope, aka Circle of Hope Duluth in 2010 and closed it this year. We helped breast cancer patients in Minnesota and Wisconsin, funded breast cancer research, etc. We paid forward OVER $600,000 to help breast cancer patients.
Hobbies & Volunteer Work: I wrote a book, "Dear Auntie Why Me?" The money I raised from my book, I donated to the Essentia Foundation for a specific cause. I was a crafter in the community. In my spare time besides being on many boards and volunteering all over the city of Duluth after retiring from teaching, I was in many clubs including Kiwanis, Optimist Club, Junior League of Duluth, Safe Haven and many more.
College & Degrees: I have my master's degree and phd equivalency. I have 8 teaching licenses. After retiring I continued to take classes for my phd but never did the phd paper. I always say, "Jim and I are professional students."
I have received many awards through the years. I got the Hall of Fame Award for the city of Duluth May 9, 2008 for volunteerism. I received the Kiwanian of the Year Award in 2011-12 for the city of Duluth.
I always say, "Everyday is a gift." I have had cancer many times in my life. I have met and gotten to know many cancer patients in 12 years helping them! I feel truly blessed.
