We have been living in Mesa for the past 24 years and recently downsized our home. As we are all getting to the "AGE" we realize that we are not 18 anymore and aren't able to do what we used to. We have 5 grandchildren with two of them being in college and the youngest of them just turned 9.
Annually we travel to Duluth at least once a year as most of the family still lives there, my mother turning 88 in November. Last year we had a family reunion while in Duluth and Bonnie Thorseth Niven joined us, it was great fun seeing her.
I volunteer at an Eye Clinic for cataract surgeries and also narrate the surgeries for family members as they watch on a closed circuit TV, it is quite amazing microsurgery.
Recently I caught up with an old schoolmate (Bruce Wakefield) and by all chances I narrated his wife's cataract surgery, go figure after 50 years.
I also volunteer at a cancer center teaching patients how to knit and crochet, quite rewarding.
