Married Karen in 1969 - present (53 years!).
Two children - Brian and Kari, 6 grandchildren.
Moved to California in 1976, and to Bend, Oregon in 2014. I enjoyed 25 yrs of teaching 5th and 6th Grade students in Porterville, CA.Now we are free to spend time chasing after our six grandchildren. Our son Brian has three girls, and our daughter Kari has two boys and a girl.
Kari and her family moved to Bend, OR in 2012, and we finally got tired of having to travel so much to see our kids and grandkids. So being good grandparents, we moved to Bend in January, 2014. We fly Brian's family here once or twice a year. My sister Kathy enjoyed visiting Bend so much that she also moved here in April, 2015.
Karen and I keep busy with the joys of grand-parenting, and enjoying family times. I am playing my trumpet in three bands: a swing band (charts from the 40's and 50's), a symphonic winds band (classical), and a horizon band (for players 50 years old and up). I also play at church here, and for some theater productions. I am able to play golf year-round here, and take my grandkids out as well. They all enjoy it - especially when Karen packs a snack for them to enjoy as they play.
We still have some family back in Minnesota, and when we do visit we always enjoy some time in Duluth. I always take a few passes by Old Central High, and some of the neighborhoods of my early years. I have many special memories from those days: family, friends, activities, school, church, and a wonderful place to call "home".
